“Your Light is not a Well” | A Message from Spirit About Your Light

Have you ever received a word or a message while immersed in a creative project? That’s exactly how this post came to be. I know that this message and the perspective it brings was intended for others as much as it was for me, so I’m sharing it here with you now.

As I was pouring myself into a spoken word work-in-progress, a powerful message emerged, almost as if it had been waiting for us all to hear it for a very long time, and there was an urgency in my spirit as I channeled it, as though it were almost too late for it to be expressed. But, if you know the same Source that I know, it is never not right on time.

At the end of this post, you’ll find the spoken word piece in its entirety—I trust it will resonate deeply for all who find it, at just the right time.

As I watch people rise with voices loud and defiant, claiming to fight the “big bad system,” my soul insists we are witnessing something far deeper: a rebellion not against structures, but against God.

We see the rhetoric of empowerment morph into threats—women, for example, warning men of their plan to withhold intimacy as punishment, or declarations of independence shouted from a place of wounded pride. Suddenly, many are reclaiming responsibility for their own bodies and lives, but only now, when the weight of accountability can no longer be evaded.

Nothing has truly changed (or will) about our rights. But, weren’t our bodies and what we did with them always our responsibility? The sacred truth is that YES — it was, and this responsibility was never meant to feel like a burden. Instead, it is an invitation—a call to honor the divine within us, to live from a place of sacred self and reverence for our infinite worth. And isn’t this a truth we all need to hear?

There is profound power in understanding that your light is not meant to be scattered recklessly, nor offered as a resource for others to consume without care or reverence for its source. Your essence, your energy, and your divine spark are sacred gifts—not wells to be depleted by those unwilling to seek the illumination within themselves.

For empaths especially, in a world where so many are thirsty for healing, it can be tempting to pour endlessly into others, believing it is an act of love. But true love requires wisdom; it requires discernment. Just as still water becomes stagnant and toxic when it is not allowed to flow freely, so do we become toxic when we contain and dim our light through a lack of discernment and understanding of its purpose, or give it away too freely, without honoring it’s source.

We are now in, or approaching, a time when karma has come to collect its debts from those who have risked trusting themselves or the material world over God’s divine plan. Spirit calls us to embody these truths:

Honor your light: Your energy is precious. Use it to illuminate paths, not to carry burdens that are not yours to bear. You are not here to rescue; you are here to inspire.

Set sacred boundaries: It is not selfish to say “no.” Boundaries are an act of self-respect, a declaration of your worth. They remind others that they, too, must learn to fill their own cups.

Be a mirror, not a crutch: Your light reflects divine potential, showing others what is possible within themselves. Do not let it enable dependency; let it empower transformation.

Trust divine timing: Some karmic lessons are not yours to resolve for others. Trust that their struggles are part of their growth, leading them to awakening in their own time.

Where these rebellious spirits falter is in the manner and tone of their rebellion. True transformation does not come from hardening the heart, but from softening into wisdom, and that is our current call. It is through this wisdom that compassion finds its greatest strength, flowing not recklessly but with balance and intention.

Your role is not to quench another’s karmic drought, draining yourself in the process, but to guide them to discover their own wellspring. Be a guide, not the source; a lighthouse, steadfast in its light, not the lifeboat that bears the weight of every storm.

Spirit affirms: Protect your light, for it is sacred. Share it wisely, for it is divine. Trust in the greater unfolding, for it is perfect.

Your Light Is Not a Well

Your light is not a well to quench someone else’s karmic drought.

It is not the endless river, bending to fill the hollowed cups of those unwilling to dig their own soil.

It is not the flame to keep a weary soul warm while their own embers lay untouched.

Your light is sacred fire, a torch carried from the heart of the divine itself.

Your light is the dawn breaking through centuries of shadow,

A beacon that whispers, “Here. You can rise too.”

It is the song of the stars, ancient and unyielding,

reminding the lost that they are never without their own compass.

But your light is not the answer to every prayer,

nor the salve for every wound.

It cannot uproot another’s despair

without risking the soil of your own growth.

It is not the cure, nor the vessel for someone else’s healing.

Your light is an invitation, not a transaction.

There will be those who come to you thirsty,

their lips cracked with longing,

their hands outstretched, trembling.

You may feel the ache in their yearning

and the impulse to pour yourself into their emptiness.

But hear this truth:

Your light is not here to drown in the void of another.

It is here to shine, to awaken, to illuminate paths unseen.

It is here to remind others that their own reservoirs await,

hidden in the cracks of their own becoming.

Protect your flame as you would a fragile bloom—

not with walls of stone, but with reverence and intention.

Let your light guide without being devoured,

share without being diminished,

love without losing itself.

Your light is not an apology, nor an obligation.

It is not a duty to exhaust, nor a debt to repay.

It is a gift, a mirror of the infinite,

a radiant thread in the fabric of all that is holy.

Let it shine boldly, unafraid of rejection.

Let it dance across the world like a firefly’s glow,

brief yet eternal in its purpose.

For your light is not a well.

It is the reminder that the divine spark lives in us all.
