A transparent moment…

Tonight, I am unashamed to say that even though I have deep faith and deep love for Christ, and am so thankful for His gift of grace and unconditional love, I am struggling.

As I sit in stillness, not being able to do much else (or not knowing what to do, at least), the Holy Spirit reminds me that Christ told us, in the most simple words, “your life will not be without trouble.”

But just after that, He also said, “…but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

The most comforting thing to me tonight is that He more than anyone knows our struggle; that even when we can’t speak or find the words to say, and all we can do is call His name, He loves us, and is with us and for us.

In that, I find deep gratitude, and the strength to offer up praise…

When I was a child, my grandmother always taught me that when we are struggling we are in the midst of the most important moments to praise Him.

I understand that now. It means so much more, and makes all the difference.
