Choosing peace is choosing alignment with God.
It is choosing indifference instead of the temporary satisfaction of feeling right whether we actually are or not.
It’s learning the difference between being understood and simply being heard.
It’s realizing that winning often means nothing when the people we think we beat were never meant to stay in our future anyway.
Choose peace is not a slogan.
It’s a lifestyle.
I learned to live it through the hardest, realest friendship I’ve ever had.
It began with the words “Be true to you,” and those three words set me on a path that taught me how.
The person I needed most was my own deepest self but I first had to be willing to meet her.
Some people are brought into our lives for reasons only God understands.
This friendship was one of the greatest gifts He’s ever given me.
Through blood, sweat, and tears I learned that struggle and pain are our greatest teachers if we’re willing to sit with them long enough to learn.
I will stand on that truth until the day I die.
I treasured every second and I always will.
